This prestigious event was hosted by The Department of Culture, Media and Sport, headed by the Secretary of State M.P. Rt Hon Tessa Jowell, in remembrance of the U.K. victims of the Indian Ocean tragedy last Boxing Day. In attendance was H.M. Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and 1250 survivors and their families together with the families of many victims. The occasion was broadcast live on TV and Radio and aired all around the world.

Once the service had concluded at St Pauls, the congregation and guests retired to the hospitality marquees for refreshments.
